Class Notes

Justin taught me all sorts of stuff today. I'll break it down into two main points:

1. What to do when someone is in your guard and they stand up
a. As they stand, overhook their heels and push up with your hips. This should knock them over.
b. If instead of falling over, they lean forward, push in their elbows and roll them over your shoulder

2. How to choke someone when you have their back.
The basic choke goes like this:
a. Go under their left armpit with your left arm and grab their right lapel
b. Go over their right shoulder with your right arm, close shave, deep collar grip their left collar, get the choke in.
c. Pull the choke tight by pulling down and across. Stretch them out.

3. Variation:
a. Get the choke from 2
b. Bring your right leg over their right shoulder. Cross your feet
c. Squeeze!

3. Variation: switch to armbar.
a. Get the choke from 3
b. If your grips aren't good enough to finish the choke, lift up your left forearm. This should lift their left arm up.
c. Let go of your choke, and with your right hand, push their head away from the left arm.
d. Move your leg from their right shoulder to over their head.
e. Finish with the armbar.
